Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive patient counseling and medication education by phone, covering new prescriptions, refills, side effects, adherence, and proper medication use
- Collaborate with prescribers and their offices to clarify prescriptions and resolve clinical issues delaying dispensing
- Review and clinically verify prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, drug interactions, contraindications, and accurate dosing
- Conduct pharmacist verification of filled prescriptions in a closed-door fulfillment environment, ensuring accuracy of drug, dose, quantity, and labeling prior to dispensing
- Support pharmacy management staff with receiving, processing, and transferring patient prescriptions, owning the transfer process to completion
Desired Qualifications
- Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing
- 0-6 years of pharmacy experience, ideally in retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy environments; recent graduates are encouraged to apply
